Xtreme Penetrator Bullets and Ammunition

Overview

Lehigh-XPL'audace, l'audace, toujoursl'audace.Audacity, a word that rings true to us here at Lehigh.  Audacity to create new products, audacity to redefine terminal performance, audacity to deploy modern manufacturing processes.  Audacity has led us to introduce a unique and innovative product, the Xtreme Penetrator (XP)product line, for both handgun and rifles.  The progressive nose geometry allows for deep, straight penetration while creating a permanent wound cavity diameter exceeding that of most expanding bullets.  To top it off, the bullet is solid copper able to overcome barriers to penetration; environmentally friendly, target unfriendly, very unfriendly, downright obnoxiously unfriendly.

The magic happens with the nose design where the radial flutes force the hydraulic energy inward and then as the energy is restricted, it accelerates outward creating high pressure spikes damaging surrounding tissue.  Kind of similar to sticking your thumb over a garden hose.  You can see the radial pressure spikes in the gel pictures.  Each crack showing in the gel represents a permanent wound.  The permanent wound cavity of the XP is from two to four times greater than what a flat or ball nose bullet generates and often larger than traditional expanding bullets.  So what you get is exceptional penetration coupled with a larger permanent wound cavity.  Look at the data chart, no other bullet gives you this wound volume.

The nose also incorporates sharp cutting edges for defeating barriers.  No, it is not a buzz saw like other manufactures would tell you as the bullet will only rotate at the same rate as the barrel twist; if the barrel twist is one turn in twenty inches, then the bullet will only make one revolution in twenty inches of penetration.  Where flat nose and ball nose bullets tend to push material away, we have created a nose with minimal surface area increasing the force at the point of barrier contact.  Pounds per square inch.  Where the energy is a constant based on bullet weight and velocity, if you decrease the square inches of surface area, you increase the pounds.

But wait, there is more!  For all of the lever gun fans out there, we added a concave surface and dimple to the nose to clear the primer.  Adding a Gumby tip to a lever gun bullet does not make a lot of sense to us.  Improving the ballistic coefficient of a short range brush gun while hindering terminal performance is not a good trade-off.  So instead of a Gummy Bear tip, we want a wrecking ball tip, a tip that annihilates everything in its path.

Lastly, the solid copper construction will not deform when contacting hard surfaces like a lead jacketed bullet will do nor will it fragment as some hard cast lead bullets are prone to do.  What it will do is overcome surface barriers and penetrate straight and deep while creating a massive wound channel.

Lehigh Defense, always the innovator.
