Lehigh Defense .300 Whisper Bullets at American Rifleman Posted on 31 Dec 15:16

Last year American Rifleman write a nice technical article reviewing a few of our technologies. In the article, they highlight both our Controlled Fracturing and Maximum Expansions technologies. Concerning the Controlled Fracturing, they correctly note the purpose of the copper jacketed lead core bullet, namely to move the center of gravity forward, to increase overall weight without affecting projectile length and to aid in expansion. We appreciated their recognition and affirmation that our “petals will shear for enhanced wounding, while the base continues to penetrate”. This is precisely how we designed our Controlled Fracturing bullets to perform.

Concerning the Maximum Expansion, American Rifleman noted that they have “a reduced diameter behind the bearing surface, easing loading and reducing pressure”. They also recognized that the recovered projectiles “exhibited 100% weight retention”.

If you’d like to learn more about either of these technologies, feel free to visit our Controlled Fracturing or Maximum Expansion product pages. You can read the entire article (and find a ton of other useful information) over athttp://www.americanrifleman.org/article.php?id=13683&cat=27&sub=28.
