Empty Cases recently posted a nice article and video reviewing our Controlled Chaos bullets.  They accurately describe how the front core of the Chaos bullet comes apart upon contact with hydraulic fluid, then separates out and away from the primary wound track.  As they conclude, “you get massive tissue destruction and good penetration”.
